1
Tell us your idea
Brainstorm in your own words. Start with a character, a twist, a setting, or the whole story in your head.
2
Shape the story
StoryInkling plans the story with you, then writes the actual prose, chapter by chapter: scenes, dialogue, and an ending. Change anything along the way.
3
Finish your book
Check the whole book for continuity, get an editor-style critique, fix what matters in one click, choose a cover, and download ebook and paperback files.
What you can write
A short story—or a whole book.
The goal is a finished manuscript either way, not an outline that leaves you to do the rest.

Good questions
Before you begin
Do I have to know what a “beat” is?
No. StoryInkling calls these story events: the meaningful changes that move your story forward. You can edit them in everyday language.
Can I change the story after I start?
Yes. Edit the plan, rewrite any chapter with your own notes, or edit the words yourself. Later chapters are flagged when an earlier one changes, and the continuity review checks the whole book.
What does it cost to try?
Nothing. Sign up with your email (no credit card) and your account starts with 50 free credits, enough to plan and write a complete short story with a cover. When they're used, buy a credit pack or choose a plan.
How do credits work?
AI work uses credits: about 8 to plan a book and 6 per chapter. Your own edits and every download are free. Free starter credits are a one-time gift; plans refresh your credits every month, and pack credits never expire. If an AI job fails or you stop it, its credits come back.
